Sprout is origami-inspired pop-up furniture that can be transformed from its flat state with a single folding gesture. We designed the sequence of folds to shape our lightweight material into a structurally sound collection of tables, chairs, and even a whiteboard for the urban nomad.
In 2014, 54% of the global population of 7.2 billion are living in cities , and these cities are getting even more crowded each day with an addition of 2.4 billion people in the next 35 years. Our kinetic furniture is our response to the strain on urban housing supplies for urban micro apartments. It's light, portable, and easily tucked away in-place as carpeting or behind other furniture. Sprout can help urbanites make a statement and stand out in the crowded cities.
